Lodge Manager - Prestigious Private Game Lodge - Hoedspruit
The Lodge Manager will work closely with the General Manager, playing a key role in overseeing the lodge’s daily functions and ensuring optimal performance across all departments. This position demands a proactive and service-oriented individual who can lead a team and drive operational excellence in hospitality services, customer satisfaction, and business profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the General Manager in all aspects of the lodge's operations, including financial planning, human resources, food and beverage management, and rooms division.
Ensure all departments are running efficiently, meeting high productivity levels and maintaining the lodge’s quality standards.
Lead daily meetings and communicate initiatives from senior management to staff.
Analyze, develop, and implement policies and procedures to improve operational effectiveness and guest satisfaction.
Assist with budgeting, business plans, and identifying new profit opportunities while mitigating potential risks.
Act as a liaison between the lodge’s staff and management, resolving any internal or external grievances.
Monitor staff performance, conduct regular performance reviews, and enhance employee productivity through development and motivational techniques.
Continuously research and implement ways to improve lodge operations while preserving the property's high standards of service.
Grade 12 certificate
Relevant tertiary qualification in Hospitality, Tourism, or Business Management (NQF 6 level)
2-3 years of experience in a Lodge Manager or Senior Management position
Experience in finance, human resources, food and beverage, and/or rooms division is essential
Proven management and supervisory skills, with a focus on team leadership
Excellent problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making abilities
Strong business acumen with strategic leadership capabilities
