As a Health Facility Surveyor, you will work as part of a team to promote the health, safety, quality of life, and independence of the residents of North Dakota through the monitoring of the care and services of providers and suppliers consistent with state and federal requirements. You will work as a team throughout North Dakota to determine health care facilities compliance with state and federal regulations by conducting on-site surveys and evaluating the care provided. Surveyors observe the care provided; interview facility staff, family members and patients; and review records to determine the quality of the care provided. Primary assignment will be to survey long-term care facilities. To be considered for the Facility Surveyor position you are required to have a Licensure or eligibility for licensing in North Dakota as a registered nurse and two years of health care experience; or an individual who holds at least a bachelor's degree in a professional healthcare category who is licensed, certified, or registered in North Dakota and two years of health care experience. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills are necessary. Individuals must have a valid driver's license or have the ability to travel from one location to another within the state on their own. All health care facilities are smoke free environments and are homes for vulnerable adults with allergies and compromised immune systems. Smoking and its residual odors can place these individuals at risk for other health complications. Therefore, it may be a conflict of interest if the applicant is a tobacco user. Location: The surveyor positions offer the opportunity to work and travel throughout North Dakota with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Surveyors generally work four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, and have weekends and holidays off. Surveyors travel approximately 60 percent of the time. Travel does require consecutive nights away from home. A state car is provided for travel. Surveyors are able to work from their homes when not surveying. Applicants must live in North Dakota.
