Primary objective
As part of the regional NT Fleet work unit, provide administrative support to the work unit and customer service support about light and
heavy vehicles, plant and equipment servicing, repairs and maintenance and warranties.
Context statement
NT Fleet Alice Springs ensures scheduled maintenance and ad hoc repairs are promptly managed for all vehicles and equipment in Alice
Springs and remote regions. It also administers and manages a short-term hire fleet for major events, community benefits, and seasonal
4WD vehicle.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Assist the Regional Fleet Team Leader and Fleet Service Officer to ensure efficient and cost-effective schedule for the servicing and
maintenance of light and heavy vehicles in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines and NT Fleet policies.
2. Arrange service appointments, raise, and issue Fleet Service Orders and other necessary documentation for vehicle servicing, accident
and minor repairs to all light and heavy vehicles including plant and equipment.
3. Arrange for the recall, inspection and repair of motor vehicles when advised by the Fleet Service Officer or Regional Fleet Team
Leader of defects or recall campaigns.
4. Collate, check, and forward servicing invoices for further finance processing requirements, on a regular basis, including the matching
with Fleet Service Orders for updating FBS as required and ensuring they are in line with the MTA Times guide recommendations and
tendered contract pricing schedules.
5. Assist both the Regional Fleet Team Leader and Fleet Service Officer in determining the extent and scope of repairs necessary and
ensure the relevant information is accurately recorded on the repair job cards.
6. Assist both the Regional Fleet Team Leader and Fleet Service Officer with the movement and delivery of vehicles to upcoming events
or hires.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Customer service experience and automotive industry knowledge of vehicle repairs and maintenance.
2. Experience in providing administrative support to others within a client focussed team environment.
3. Demonstrate good communication skills with experience in conflict resolution and negotiation.
4. A good standard of oral and written communication skills and computer literacy, sound time-management skills and the ability to
meet deadlines.
5. A demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety responsibilities.
6. An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
7. A current Northern Territory C Class drivers’ licence.
8. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, and innovative.
Desirable
1. A current Northern Territory “MR” Licence or ability to obtain an “MR” licence upon commencement and a manual driver’s licence.
