Primary objective
Provide a high level of administrative support to the Regional Manager Katherine, general services support for the Katherine
Regional office and One NTG support for the Big Rivers Government Centre.
Context Statement
The Business Support Officer will support a range of Department of Corporate and Digital Development (DCDD) and NTG
wide administrative tasks for the Big Rivers Government Centre, contributing to One NTG service delivery.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Support the Regional Manager Katherine through provision of high level administration, document preparation and
secretariat functions.
2. Support the Katherine Regional Office with general services functions including invoice processing, corporate credit
card transaction, purchasing, fleet maintenance, travel and other administrative support; and undertake accounts
receivable functions as required.
3. Support One NTG projects for the Big Rivers Government Centre.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and engagement experience with a client
service focus across a diverse stakeholder group.
2. Proven ability to operate individually and as a team member and exercise judgement without supervision while
maintaining discretion and confidentiality, together with problem solving and decision making capability.
3. Demonstrated organisation skills, flexibility and the ability to work under pressure and complete a diverse range of
activities within deadlines.
4. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of administrative/operational systems including purchasing, travel and
finance and the ability to provide training in these systems.
5. Experience with accounts receivable processes including invoicing, debt resolution, reporting and cash reconciliation.
6. Demonstrated understanding of the application of Occupational Health and Safety, Records Management and Equal
Employment Opportunity principles including workplace diversity.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest,
respectful and innovative.
Desirable
1. Experience in ECMS Credit Card Processing, Accounts Receivable and Debt Recovery.
