Primary objective
The Agency Fleet Officer provides high quality advice to clients on all matters relating to Fleet management, including maintaining
professional relationships between NT Fleet and key stakeholders of NT government agencies.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Accountable to the Supervisor Agency Fleet Officer for endorsement and the Manager Agency Fleet Services for the delivery of
quality and cost-effective fleet management services to client agencies.
2. Maintain a portfolio of clients in delivering a range of quality cost efficient client services aligned to the Service Statement.
3. Prepare timely, high quality management reports focusing on achieving savings for agencies.
4. Working knowledge and proven experience with accounts receivable and general ledgers, preparation of monthly journals, coding
and reconciliation of fuel accounts and monthly lease payments using government financial systems.
5. Responsible for maintaining the Vehicle Booking System (VBS) and Fleet Business System Online (FBS Online).
6. Ensure the compliance of effective governance and reporting systems in all areas of responsibility.
7. Contribute to a culture of achievement with a focus on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of client focused services and by
promoting high level professionalism, innovation and quality client focus.
8. Establish and maintain effective collaborative customer relationships with internal and external stakeholders through timely liaison,
negotiation and problem solving.
9. Contribute to the development of NT Fleet Strategic initiatives and projects.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Well-developed knowledge of principles of vehicle management with the ability to comprehend, apply and interpret legislation,
guidelines, policies and procedures to vehicle management tasks.
2. Well-developed organisational skills, including an attention to detail and accuracy, ability to effectively manage and prioritise
workloads, under pressure to meet deadlines.
3. High level of self-motivation, integrity and flexibility to work autonomously and a demonstrated willingness to contribute to the
objectives and priorities of the work unit in an environment maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
4. High quality interpersonal, written and oral communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively with people
at all levels, within and outside of government, including dealing with people of diverse cultures.
5. Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a team environment and provide high quality customer service to client agencies.
6. High level competency and proven experience in the use of office automation software, accounting packages, spreadsheets,
databases, and report generation techniques with high level attention to detail.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, respectful and
innovative.
