Primary objective
Provide project and contract administration advice and services to project delivery staff to support the delivery of
Government's civil and infrastructure programs.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide advice and administration support to project delivery staff to ensure that projects and contracts are compliant with contract
conditions and agreements.
2. Provide all data recording, documentation and record keeping related to assigned Minor New Works, Repairs, Maintenance and less
complex Capital Works, Recoverable Works, and Consultancy Projects.
3. Process and monitor the financial administration of projects and contracts following agency processes and guidelines.
4. Provide support, monitoring, and training to other Project Administration staff.
5. Establish an excellent working relationship with internal project delivery staff both technical and professional and communicate
effectively, both orally and in writing, on all matters relating to project administration.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Ability to provide project and contract administration advice to project delivery staff on assigned Minor New Works, Repairs,
Maintenance and less complex Capital Works, Recoverable Works, and Consultancy Projects.
2. Sound verbal communication and interpersonal skills to explain procedures, standards and systems in a manner suited to the needs
of technical and professional staff.
3. Good written skills with the ability to prepare accurate memoranda as well as comprehensive and succinct notes.
4. Sound knowledge of IT systems for project administration; financial management and reporting; and Microsoft Word, Excel, and
Office related software.
5. Ability to train, mentor and provide guidance to staff on the job.
6. High level skills in maintaining data integrity with thoroughness, attention to detail and accuracy.
7. A good knowledge of the Northern Territory Government (or similar jurisdiction) project and contract administration procedures and
systems and relevant legislation and guidelines.
8. An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of the Northern Territory Infrastructure industry and geographical locations.
