Primary objective
Contribute to the delivery of skilled and regional employer sponsored migration programs in the Northern Territory and provide relevant
information to key stakeholders.
Context statement
Migration NT has carriage of skilled and business migration programs in the Northern Territory and worker attraction and retention
activities. Its key purpose is to drive the NT’s economy by growing a skilled workforce and population.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Undertake assessment and case management in relation to applications under regional employer sponsored and General Skilled
Migration programs, including assessment against set criteria, liaising with applicants and nominees, and maintaining accurate records.
2. Provide information on business and skilled migration programs and Migration NT services to NT employers, business and industry
and potential business and skilled migrants.
3. In liaison with relevant contractors, assist with the development and management of the Migration NT online application system to
ensure all applications are accurately captured and the required information migrates automatically to TRM.
4. Extract and analyse skilled migration data and formulate reports on status, sources, and outcomes for the NT.
5. Assist in the development and delivery of promotional content for a range of different mediums, audiences, and platforms such as
presentations, websites, brochures, and factsheets for public dissemination.
6. Undertake other duties as directed.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Well-developed communication and organisational skills and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight,
conflicting deadlines and changing priorities across a broad range of functions.
2. Knowledge of skilled migration programs and their relationship to the Northern Territory’s demographics and economy.
3. Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying regulations or policy, case management, and problem solving.
4. Proven ability to effectively consult and engage with stakeholders from a broad range of government, industry, business, community
and cultural backgrounds with tact and diplomacy.
5. Demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team and work with minimal supervision.
6. Demonstrated high level of computer literacy and knowledge of various office software packages and their application.
Desirable
1. Hold relevant tertiary qualification.
2. Hold or have the ability to obtain registration as a Migration Agent or legal practitioner.
3. Hold an NT Driver Licence

This position may be required to travel intrastate and some out of hour’s work may be required.
