Primary objective
Manage and advise on talent acquisition, bulk recruitment and workforce planning services to optimise strategic workforce and
recruitment initiatives to meet the operational needs of the Department of Corrections.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Assist in leading and managing a small team of specialists in talent acquisition and workforce planning.
2. Undertake detailed analysis of the Department’s workforce needs and future requirements to ensure planning and bulk
recruitment activities meet workforce changes.
3. Provide advice and guidance on contemporary talent acquisition and on-boarding strategies practices to ensure bulk
recruitment practices continue to be timely and effective.
4. Manage the development, analysis and presentation of workforce plans, strategic and operational data and reporting for use
in a range of internal and external and departmental decision-making governance bodies.
5. Inform and influence managers to adopt effective recruitment and workforce planning practices.
6. Partner with managers to address more complex recruitment and on-boarding requirements for specialist positions in NTCS.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Successful high level experience in undertaking workforce planning and recruitment activities in an operational environment.
2. Highly developed interpersonal, communication (oral and written), negotiation, influencing, and collaboration skills.
3. Experience in leading and delivering contemporary recruitment and on-boarding strategies and practices, including the use of
social media campaigns.
4. High level, conceptual and analytical ability including the ability to analyse data and produce meaningful workforce planning
reports.
5. High level self-management, motivation and organisational ability, including managing competing priorities.
6. Proven performance providing high level client services and developing productive working partnerships with a diverse range
of clients.
7. Demonstrated ability to respond positively to change with a commitment to ongoing improvement, as well as strong leadership
capabilities and the skills to positively influence and contribute as an effective team member.
Desirable
1. Relevant tertiary qualification in human resource management or a related field.
2. Experience and a sound understanding of the Northern Territory Public Sector’s legislative employment framework
