Primary objective
Provide professional Records Management consulting, advice, and project management services to client agencies.
Context statement
Information Management Services provides best practice advice and records management services to NTG client agencies.
Structured into several work streams, a wide range of services are delivered, including records management, help desk
services, records appraisal, sentencing and disposal, training development and delivery and Freedom of Information.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Contribute to the development of documentation, including advice, work instructions and business processes.
2. Provide advice and consultation services to records system users.
3. Design, develop and apply business processes to improve record management practices, and identify recordkeeping
issues/problems encountered by client agencies and plan for resolution.
4. Provide advice on records management policies, or initiatives to enable client agencies to manage their records and use
records systems.
5. Manage small projects and bodies of work under the direction of the management team.
6. Provide updates to the management team through regular reporting.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience improving business processes, including ability to map and analyse business processes.
2. Project management skills, with the ability to plan and manage projects, changing priorities and timeframes to deliver
quality outcomes against agreed standards.
3. Ability to write documents to a near-final standard, such as advices, work instructions and interdepartmental memos.
4. Well-developed communication and presentation skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and provide expert,
authoritative advice and responsive client service.
5. Experience in records management systems or transferable skills that apply to records management systems.
6. Ability to work collaboratively to build and sustain positive relationships with team members, clients and stakeholders
and maintain confidentiality and discretion.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest,
innovative and respectful.
Desirable
1. Qualifications in Records Management or Project Management.
