This position works within the Community Health & Human Services, Housing Division to support the Deputy Director in work to preserve, expand, and facilitate affordable housing opportunities in Tempe. Under the general supervision of the CHHS Deputy Director, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of HUD Housing programs such as Housing Choice Voucher (HCV/Section 8), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership grant (HOME) as well as project coordination of complex and politically sensitive low- and moderate-income housing projects and associated community facilities abiding by HUD CDBG/HOME and/or other federal grant policy framework.



Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in the acquisition of real property utilizing HUD grant funding
  • Direct, applicable experience in delivering CDBG entitlement programming to include Section 3, Davis Bacon, Environmental Reviews, and cohesive planning and grants management documents such Consolidated Plan/CAPER/Annual Action Plans
Annual Salary Range:
$108,198 - $143,903

DESCRIPTION

This position works within the Community Health & Human Services, Housing Division to support the Deputy Director in work to preserve, expand, and facilitate affordable housing opportunities in Tempe; position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of HUD Housing programs such as

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
Requires four (4) years of experience in the implementation and coordination of social services and activities, community programs and activities, early childhood education, including two (2) years of supervisory experience.


Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.



Education:

Requires the equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, human services, sociology, public administration, education, or a degree related to the core functions of this position. Master’s degree is preferred.


The term “equivalent” means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal time increments for college-level education, for example: one year of additional directly related work experience will substitute for one year of college education (30 credit hours).


Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
