Education, Qualifications and Experience: -Grade 12 -CSSD CPD course - 2 years of experience as a CSSD technician Knowledge of IPC protocols and principles -Knowledge of the CSSD basic functions - Computer literate -Stock control processes Responsibilities: -The CSSD Technician is responsible for the execution of procedures and tasks to clean, prepare, pack and sterilize unsterile instruments, linen and consumables and to supply sterile requirements to Theatre and other Departments in the hospital -Ensure optimal care and maintenance of capital equipment to minimize clinical and financial risks -Ensure cost-effective use of pharmaceutical stock to meet the daily requirements of the operating theatre and other nursing units
-Ensure Infection Prevention and Control standards are met according to policies and procedures
-Adhere to standardized workflow processes in order to minimize risks -To report any faults with cleaning and sterilising equipment or machinery and follow-up on feedback from maintenance department -Act as liaison as required between CSSD department and Theatre Manager or Nursing management ensuring that staff understand and correctly implement relevant policies developed by management, as well as relaying concerns or questions in opposite direction -Constantly be aware of work process problems or bottlenecks that prevent the achievement of goals, objectives and targets -Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities Job Type: Full-time Ability to commute/relocate:
