Education, Qualifications and Experience: - Minimum Grade 10 or/Abet level 04 - Ability to communicate in more than one official language - Physically fit Experience in dealing with customers Responsibilities: Patient Transport: - Safely transfer patients between wards, operating theatres, radiology, and other departments. - Transport patients in wheelchairs, beds, or stretchers as required. - Ensure patient comfort and dignity during transport and follow safety procedures. - Assist with the safe lifting and positioning of patients when necessary. Movement of Equipment and Supplies: - Transport medical equipment, such as oxygen tanks, monitors, and wheelchairs, between hospital departments. - Move beds, trolleys, and furniture as needed for patient care or hospital logistics. - Deliver supplies such as medical instruments, sterile equipment, and blood samples to relevant departments. Communication and Coordination: - Work closely with healthcare teams to coordinate transport and logistical needs. - Respond promptly to requests from nurses, doctors, or hospital administration for patient or equipment transport. - Ensure all documentation related to patient transport is completed accurately. Emergency Response: - Be available to assist with transporting patients and equipment during medical emergencies. - Follow hospital protocols for dealing with urgent situations, such as moving patients during a fire drill or evacuating in case of emergency. Health and Safety Compliance: - Adhere to hospital policies and procedures regarding patient safety, infection control, and health and safety standards.
