PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The Training and Development Technical Coordinator is responsible for the technical and operational training function at System Control. They will
provide strong leadership while formulating the strategic direction for operational training by identifying, developing, delivering, assessing, and
reporting on a diverse range of technical training and development programs for System Control staff to ensure a competent, knowledgeable, and
skilled workforce, to support the quality delivery of System Control functions now and in the future.
The Training and Development Technical Coordinator is to oversee the technical and operational training within System Control in line with the
systems and processes of the organisation, ensuring capability uplift and increased skills to the workforce in supporting the quality of service delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
Workforce competency and training
- Ensure that all System Control elements of the technical capability framework (framework) are developed, delivered, and administered in
collaboration with the Power and Water’s Organisational Development function.
- Identify learning requirements from varying instruments; develop, implement and identify potential competency-based technical training
requirements and programs that align with industry standards and/or best practices.
- Ensure the ongoing maintenance and currency of internal training and assessment materials including updating the framework with available
programs and content.
- Facilitate scheduling and delivery of internal and external training courses and materials, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory
obligations, as well as required licensing and recommended authorisation requirements.
- Develop and implement rotational programs, coordinate training and skill development activities associated with System Control tasks, ensuring
alignment with organisational requirements and continuous improvement measures.
Capability development
- Develop and implement strategic workforce capability programs for System Control, providing professional advice to managers on training,
skills development, mentoring, and update material to incorporate any change management processes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, analyse outcomes, and recommend improvements to ensure ongoing viability and alignment
with industry advancements.
- Stay updated with industry technology, integrating appropriate training for the introduction of new technology, procedures, or work practices.
- Collaborate with Power and Water’s Organisational Development function, technical subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure training
content, delivery, and development meet operational and organisational capability requirements.
Leadership
- Provide leadership in formulating the strategic direction for operational training, developing, delivering, assessing, and reporting on technical
training and development programs for System Control.
