Primary objective
To provide contemporary training and support to users of the new Territory wide Electronic Health Record (EHR) – Acacia, during the phased
implementation approach across all of NT Health’s primary, remote and tertiary healthcare services.
Context statement
Digital Project Services (DPS) delivers very complex, high value, and high-risk ICT programs and multi-year digital transformation initiatives for
core frontline services through an inter-agency collaborative approach. Working closely with the client Agencies, the team comprises of public
sector employees and contractors working together to deliver multiple streams of activity as programs are implemented. The work environment
is dynamic, fast-paced and results driven with high expectations of superior service delivery. The Core Clinical Systems Renewal Program (CCSRP)
is a major technology program that will transform the delivery of health care services for Territorians by delivering a Territory-wide single,
integrated health electronic record system.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Co-design training content to be developed for end-user online training and instructor-led training, including end user support and
promotional materials ensuring clinical focus and workflow application where appropriate.
2. Deliver clinical information systems training applying a blended approach in a variety of contexts including one-on-one, small group and large
group forums, following a facilitator guide, in line with agreed training delivery processes and standards, implementation plans and schedules.
3. Participate in continual process improvement by assessing training effectiveness to ensure the desired training quality standards are met and
assist with preparation and analysis of training progress and summarise findings for team management.
4. Assist in building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of people in addition to the PMO teams, including project sponsors,
senior managers, stakeholders/clients, other project team members, external agencies, and vendors.
5. Follow defined service quality standards, WHS policies and procedures to ensure high quality, safe services, and workplaces.
6. Provide go-live implementation training and support across the Northern Territory for the implementation phases, including out-of-hours
training and rostered support to meet the agreed support requirements of the Program.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven experience delivering high quality workplace training in information systems using blended approaches, applying principles of adult
learning and Australian standards applicable to training in a clinical health environment.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in delivering training within a clinical health software implementation context or similar.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of commonly used software tools required for online training development.
4. Proven well-developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and collaboration skills with ability to interact effectively with people from
diverse cultures.
5. Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, remain agile in a fast-paced working environment and effectively manage competing
priorities while achieving required objectives.
6. Preparedness to travel by 4WD/light plane and spend periods of time away from Darwin where applicable, and to work rostered and non-
standard working hours as required.
7. A current Northern Territory driver’s licence or the ability to readily obtain.
8. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, respectful, and innovative.
Desirable
1. Degree level qualification in Health or Community Services or a related field.
2. Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, or other recognised training qualification.
3. Substantial relevant experience in clinical or professional service delivery in a community services or health care setting.
4. Experience in the delivery of training services relating to computer-based information.
