About the team
The Industry and Manufacturing Division supports a productive economy by advising government on overarching industry and manufacturing policies and a range of programs. Our role supports Australian industry to be sustainable, resilient and grow to its full potential. We do this by working across government to influence business settings, by building industry and manufacturing capability, and supporting Australian industry to effectively respond to emerging economic risks and opportunities and manage transitions.

Key to this is our deep understanding of, and intelligence on, Australian industry and how the trends towards decarbonisation, digitisation and diversification can be harnessed to build capability and lead the pack in areas of comparative advantage, today and in future. We seek to be as industrious and innovative as Australian industry, and bring a deep commitment to curiosity, collaboration, and our connection with and care for our team.

We work collaboratively across teams and topics – there is always interesting and dynamic work to deliver. We work in a tightknit, caring, and inclusive division, with a workforce spread across the country.

The Commercialisation Division is responsible for the development and implementation of policies and programs to drive greater business innovation and commercialisation. The support we provide to Australian entrepreneurs and businesses to invest in R&D, grow their business and take their novel ideas to market, including through encouraging private investment, helps build a resilient and more competitive economy.
