Primary objective

Provide a high standard of corporate governance support in the agency through the development, implementation,

management and monitoring of effective governance policies, risk management practices and internal audit programs.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Manage, undertake, and contribute to governance activities to ensure the achievement of good governance.

2. Develop and maintain systems and processes for the monitoring and reporting of the effectiveness of corporate

governance, risk management, business continuity, compliance, and internal control mechanisms.

3. Undertake internal audits, review and investigations as outlined in the agency’s internal audit plan.

4. Assist with the monitoring and recording of audit findings/recommendations and the actions taken by the agency to

address them.

5. Research, investigate, consult, and develop corporate governance policies, guidelines, and procedures.

6. Provide advice for effective fraud management processes across the agency.

7. Prepare correspondence, reports, briefings, submissions, and implementation procedures associated with governance,

risk management, business continuity, audits, and reviews.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Sound working knowledge and demonstrated experience of corporate governance, risk management practices including

risk identification and planning processes, and audit and review principles and processes.

2. Demonstrated experience to understand, interpret and apply legislation, policy, and procedures.

3. Demonstrated sound conceptual, analytical, problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically with high

attention to detail, strong research and investigation skills and ability to resolve issues.

4. High-level communication skills to enable effective stakeholder engagement, investigation interviews, provision of

advice, delivery of workshops and presentations, and preparation of reports, policies, and procedures.

5. Good interpersonal skills with a proven strong client focus, ability to consult and negotiate with stakeholders, develop,

and maintain positive and productive working relationships.

6. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, achieve outputs, with well-developed time management

skills, and experience in working within tight timeframes.

7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest,

innovative, and respectful.

Desirable

1. Qualifications in Business, Public Administration, risk management, investigations, or other related discipline.
