In this role, you'll:
Lead the development and implementation of our Data Strategy, delivering practical assistance to align data management practices across OTSI, support digital transformation initiatives, and improve data capability, maturity and quality.
Develop, maintain and ensure compliance with our data governance framework, model, policies, standards and guidelines to uplift and align data management practices, including Cybersecurity.
Prioritise, sequence and track the delivery of our Data Strategy and initiatives.
Work as part of a team which gathers, organises, analyses and reports data to assist in making informed decisions which impact safety across the NSW transport network including Rail, Bus, Ferry and Light Rail.
This role will see you collaboratively develop and deliver a contemporary Data Strategy and governance framework that supports OTSI’s objectives.

About you
You will be a values-based leader with a combination of strategic vision and operational management capability. You will have a proven ability to build relationships and lead collaborative projects with a broad range of in-house and external technical people and coordinate their input into the delivery of projects. Your ability to develop and deliver excellent customer outcomes in a regulatory environment is highly desirable. Your experience in considering emerging trends and opportunities, managing complex issues, while ensuring the delivery of customer-focussed, timely and impactful insights.
Your proven ability to operate in an agile environment will enable you to work effectively with the various specialists in our teams. You're recognised as a proactive ""can do"" data professional with a strong customer focus who uses data to provide insights that inform actions, trends or initiatives.
Who we are
The Office of Transport Safety Investigations (OTSI) is the independent ‘no-blame’ transport safety investigator for NSW.
Our role is to improve transport safety and enhance public confidence in the safety of the network by conducting fair and balanced investigations and sharing safety lessons and insights with bus, ferry and rail operators, regulators, and other stakeholders who can take action to improve the safety of services.
OTSI also manages the Confidential Safety Information Reporting Scheme (CSIRS) which gives transport workers a confidential way to make a report about a safety issue affecting a bus, ferry or rail service.
