What you will do:
The Data Governance Officer's role is to support the implementation of data governance, management, and standards across the agency. The Data Governance Officer will: . Assist with the development of the practices, standards, and principles to deliver fit for purpose guidance and support to ACMA staff to improve data use and management. . Assist with maintaining the agency's Data Catalogue . Collaborate with other areas of the agency to improve ACMAs data maturity. . Research and implement Whole of Australian Government data initiatives at the ACMA . Support the work of the ACMA data management council . Work closely with a supportive section comprised of people with diverse backgrounds and expertise.

The following skills and capabilities would be beneficial to this role: . Excellent written communication skills . Experience in data governance or management. . Ability to effectively manage Share Point sites, including updating pages, understanding permissions, and managing lists.

About the team:
The Data Governance Section sits within the Research, Data, and Governance Branch in the Corporate and Research Division; with a mission to provide ACMA employees with the guidance, tools, and support to enable an appropriate and productive relationship with data at both the strategic and operational levels. The Data Governance Section is responsible for creating and implementing a data governance program that enables the agency to appropriately manage ACMA's data as per policy, business needs, and within our technical infrastructure. The ACMA is maturing its approach to how we collect, manage, and use data to facilitate continuous improvement and effective data-driven decision-making across the agency. The Data Governance Section works in close collaboration with the Data Strategy and Visual Analytics Section within Research, Data, and Governance Branch, the Digital and Technology Services Branch and business areas across the ACMA.
