MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
To qualify for the Tribal Liaison position at the GS-11 grade, you must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
- SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-xx grade level in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: (1) maintaining liaison with Tribal officials to articulate program policy and ensure appropriate consultation and collaboration in resource management, policy development, project development, and other program activities; (2) interpreting laws, regulations, and procedures related to tribes and their involvement in federal programs or projects; (3) advise land managers to advance resource stewardship and/or tribal concerns; (4) serve on task forces regarding policy recommendations on Native American affairs, and advising external organizations on such matters; (5) conduct tribal consultations, public meetings, briefings, and other community relations activities; and/or (6)Serving as an advisor for tribally related topics. You must include your resume with hours worked per week annotated.

- EDUCATION: Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, have 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or have an LL.M. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. You must include your official transcripts with your application.

- COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: Have a combination of specialized experience as described in A above and education as described in B above. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level (e.g.: 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree) may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-11. (When crediting education that requires specific course work, prorate the number of hours of related courses required as a proportion of the total education to be used.) Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
