Kamehameha Schools is searching for a Talent Acquisition Specialist* to join our Human Resources division. The Talent Acquisition (TA) team manages the full-cycle, enterprise-wide recruitment for all positions across our organization, including our 3 K-12 campuses, 30 preschools, and various enterprise and community-focused divisions.

- Candidates may be hired as either a Talent Acquisition Specialist or Talent Acquisition Consultant based on skill and experience level.
This is a Hybrid position which provides work from home flexibility on an approval basis.
Job Summary
Leads effective full-cycle recruitment by partnering with client groups to fill various professional level positions. Ensures candidate engagement through active hiring manager participation. Actively seeks information and understanding pertaining to KS’ business, operations, services and employee base to understand and support recruitment needs through successful hire of qualified applicants for various professional level positions. Ensures recruitment programs and initiatives enhance employee attraction, engagement and retention and deepen the connection of candidates and employees to KS’ mission, vision, values and culture.
Essential Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Develops and executes recruiting plans for specific positions in alignment with departmental or organization wide recruitment strategies.
- Conducts intake with hiring managers for mid- to senior- level positions at the onset of recruitment to gather strong understanding of talent needs. Determine appropriate support needed to effectively manage recruitment.
- Screens applications, prescreens and/or interviews candidates as needed.
- Provides timely candidate communications during the recruiting and hiring process to include effective management of applicant flow and dispositioning to ensure a positive candidate experience.
- Maintains positive relationships and partners with hiring manager on daily transactional recruitment activities to deliver an exceptional manager and candidate experience.
- Utilizes data analytics to provide recruitment and interview process guidance and screening tools to hiring manager.
- Maintains positive relations and works with a variety of agencies as needed for hiring of entry and professional-level jobs. Monitors and evaluates need for agency hires in partnership with hiring manager
- Regularly sources for top talent and actively engages with passive applicants to build talent pipelines.
Employer Brand Strategy
- Establishes and maintains relationships through associations and professional memberships and builds a pool of qualified applicants.
- Builds KS’ employer brand and presence through various community engagements to include but not be limited to social media networking, participation in job fairs and other community/recruitment events (i.e. mock interviews, resume writing workshops, etc.).
- Posts job vacancies to industry specific professional (targeted) sites and organizations to include external staffing agencies as needed.
- Actively engages clients to leverage extended networks and industry affiliations to attract specific talent and build the KS employer brand.
Manager and Candidate Experience
- Continuously assess the experience of both the hiring manager and candidate to ensure effective processes and positive experiences are at the fore front of service.
- Actively seek information and understanding pertaining to KS and direct client’s business, operations, services and employee base and translates that in to meaningful and interpretable information that can be provided to candidates to further their understanding of the position, department/division and org.
- Develop strong cross-functional relationships to create positive experience for stakeholders involved.
- Identifies operational training needs and conducts various manager trainings. Assists in the creation and revision of trainings.
Hiring and Onboarding
- Extends offers of employment.
- Conducts pre-employment background checks and schedules new hire orientation.
- Manages escalated background check issues.
- Conducts new hire orientation and exit interviews as needed.
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the requirements listed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of technology and proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, word processing, data management and presentation applications.
- Knowledge of information/applicant tracking or recruiting systems.
- Demonstrated experience developing recruitment plans.
- Demonstrated successful placement of entry to professional level jobs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Exceptional customer service focus.
- Excellent organization and time management skills to manage competing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and projects.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Training and/or work experience guiding and consulting with individuals.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp light or fine manipulation, talk or hear.
- Occasionally stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.
Working Conditions (including environmental conditions)
- This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
- Work is conducted in an office environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
- Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours.
