Position Announcement
Under the direction of the Events & Outreach Coordinator, plans, implements, and assesses the effectiveness of on- and off-campus student-focused Concurrent Enrollment events. Depending on the type of event, this position may be required to collaborate with UVU departments and faculty, high school administrators, coordinators, and instructors. The Specialist-Events/Outreach is also a member of the office’s marketing team. As a member of this team, and in collaboration with the director and creative designer, this position assists in creating marketing material for various student-focused events.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Assists the Events & Outreach Coordinator in planning, implementing, and assessing the effectiveness of on-campus student-focused events - such as campus visits and tours, symposiums, competitions, and other events that bring concurrent enrollment students to campus.
- Develops and distributes surveys following each event.
- Analyze survey results to gauge the effectiveness of the individual event and gain comments and suggestions for future implementation. This information will also be used to produce reports containing metrics previously determined for maximum effectiveness. These events may include collaboration with Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and individual departments across campus.

Assists the Events & Outreach Coordinator in planning, implementing, and assessing the effectiveness of Concurrent Enrollment off-campus events conducted at high schools, career fairs, and information nights.
- These may include Wolverine Wednesdays, in-class presentations, and any other Concurrent Enrollment high school student-sponsored events geared toward current and potential concurrent enrollment students. Develops and distributes surveys following each event. Analyze survey results to gauge the effectiveness of the individual event and gain comments and suggestions for future implementation. This information will also be used to produce reports containing metrics previously determined for maximum effectiveness. These events may include collaboration with one or multiple high school partners such as instructors, coordinators, and administrators.
- Works in collaboration with the CE Engagement Team, Mar Com manager, and Senior Director of Concurrent Enrollment to produce and distribute marketing materials related to CE student-focused events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- Must be a current UVU student.
- 1-2 years of experience in event support.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Knowledge of the Concurrent Enrollment program
- Knowledge of college admissions and registration processes
- Knowledge of college recruitment
- Knowledge of event planning and execution
- Knowledge and experience in building and maintaining relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Skills in the navigation of Microsoft products (Word, Power Point, Excel, MS Teams)
- Skills in public speaking in tracking, assessing, and reporting events and outreach data
- Skills in being highly organized and detail-oriented
- Skills in the execution of events
- Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms
- Ability to deliver presentations
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused organization
