Position Announcement
Utah Valley University is seeking an Athletic Business Manager! The Athletic Business Manager is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of the UVU Athletics Department business, travel, and financial affairs.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of the UVU Athletics Department business and financial affairs. Including reconciling pro cards, processing deposit, receiving and tracking equipment, general department purchasing, and processing journal entries.
- Books travel for all teams, coaches, and administrative staff. Ensures proper requests are in place and that expense reports are submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
- Performs some administrative duties, such as file management, athletic accounting manual maintenance, and reconciling of athletic revenue accounts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or a related field plus two years of directly related experience related to the summary of duties or any combination of education and experience totaling six years.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in business, accounting, or finance.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting.
- Knowledge of group travel best practices and event planning.
Skills
- Strong analytical and technical accounting Skills.
- Experience with accounting software and all Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Oracle experience would be helpful.
- Must be a strong team player, highly motivated, and have the ability to perform technical accounting tasks and functions.
Abilities
- Flexibility, multi-tasking, creative thinking, good business judgement, strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to make sound business judgments in resolving generally understood and/or more complex issues.
- Ability to develop relationships with diverse groups and various levels of financial and operating personnel.
