Student - 2024 Reading Room Assistant
Open Position for Fall 2024: Reading Room Assistant
Job Duties: The individual hired for this position will be involved in several aspects of creating the reading room we are establishing to support students and faculty in the new ELED 362/ED 299 course for Spring 2025. The individual will level books for the library portion using lexile levels and F&P levels, categorize and organize materials into the five components of reading for easy student and faculty access, and locate additional instructional materials as requested by the two faculty teaching the spring course.
Required background knowledge: The successful candidate will need knowledge of leveling systems, the five components of reading, and successful instructional approaches within those five components. In order to ensure that the candidate has the requisite knowledge base, he or she will need to have taken, and successfully completed, both ED 320 and ELED 352 and be eligible for the title of CASCLS Clinician Level 1.
