The following are general descriptions of
Storekeeper positions within the City and County of Honolulu.
Assistant Storekeeper (SR-08):
Salary - Assistant Storekeeper (SR-08): $3,156/month
Assists in the operation of a storeroom by performing a variety of storekeeping work in the receipt, storage and issuance of supplies and materials; posts daily receipt and issue data to stock cards; loads vehicle and delivers orders to respective departmental sites island-wide; and performs other related duties as required.
Storekeeper I/II (SR-11/SR-13):
Salary - Storekeeper I (SR-11) : $3,484/month
Salary - Storekeeper II (SR-13): $3,768/month
Exercises immediate responsibility for the day-to-day operations of a storeroom; sets up and maintains storekeeping system and procedures; maintains inventory records and stock record cards; receives, stores and issues supplies and materials; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy Information:
- There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Parks and Recreation, Administration Division, located in Pearl City. Work hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This vacancy will be filled at the Assistant Storekeeper level.
- There is one (1) vacancy with the Honolulu Police Department, Finance Division, located in Honolulu. This vacancy will be filled at the Storekeeper I level.
- There is one (1) vacancy with the Honolulu Fire Department, located at the Waipahu Maintenance Facility. Work hours are from Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. This vacancy will be filled at the Storekeeper II level.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Assistant Storekeeper & Storekeeper I/II: Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience that demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Assistant Storekeeper: Two (2) years of clerical experience, one of which must have been in computerized storekeeping work.
Applicable Skills:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of storekeeping.
- Knowledge of purchasing rules and regulations.
- Ability to inspect supplies to determine their operational fitness.
- Ability to perform clerical functions.
- Ability to make simple arithmetic computations.
Storekeeper I/II: Two (2) years of computerized storekeeping experience.
Applicable Skills:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of storekeeping.
- Knowledge of purchasing rules and regulations.
- Ability to plan, establish and maintain storekeeping systems.
- Ability to plan, lay out, assign and review the work of others.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
Assistant Storekeeper & Storekeeper I/II:
1. Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license, as required.
2. Possession of an appropriate valid forklift certification, as required.
Storekeeper II Only:
The current vacancy requires the following licensure and certification:
1. Valid Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3), prior to appointment.
2. Medical Examiner's Certificate issued by the City's Health Services, prior to appointment.
3. Forklift Certification (Class 4, 5), prior to completion of probation.
The above licenses/certificates must be obtained by the time specified and maintained on a current basis thereafter as a condition of employment.
