At Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, we believe The Outside is in Us All. Our positions are FULL TIME, 1715-hour, 41 hour / week opportunities that give members the chance to serve and grow in a supportive environment. Your service has a lasting impact on the stewardship of Montana’s outdoor heritage. Duties will vary by service location, but may include: restoring natural ecosystems through transplanting native plants; managing noxious invasive weeds; developing or improving trails systems; leading interpretive tours, nature walks, and hikes; leading communication campaigns, improving and creating educational displays at visitor centers; expanding service-learning opportunities for local students; recruiting and managing volunteers; representing Montana FWP at community events; hosting community events at our state parks; completing other projects that align with your specific skills, interests, and state park needs.
Member Duties : Members receive training and experiences in outdoor recreation in our four main program goals: enhancing state land, enriching educational opportunities, building volunteer capacity, and strengthening community outreach while accomplishing tasks that go far beyond any entry level positions. They will create educational programs that connect visitors with nature in ways that cause them to learn, reflect, and appreciate; develop nature trails; host skills clinics; manage invasive species; and restore native ecosystems. Finally, members will organize events both within and outside develop volunteer opportunities that encourage people to participate in outdoor recreation. Our service terms take place amid the stunning scenery, dazzling waters, geologic wonders, and cultural history of Montana FWP sites.
