The role of the Library Clerk (PT) is primarily of a routine nature and involves the performance of clerical tasks for the proper organization and distribution of library materials. Although detailed instructions are given for new assignments, and practices are generally fixed, employees must be able to exercise independent judgment in applying them to specific cases. Typical responsibilities include issuing, renewing and receiving library materials, performing routine circulation, reserve and overdue functions, operating standard office equipment, as well as shelving new and returned books, according to identification numbers. The Library Clerk will also inspect audio-visual and other materials, count and record statistics, give directional information, assists in taking inventories, arranges book displays and exhibits and may prepare book and supply orders. This is a front facing position that will interact with the public. Job Requirements:
Requirements: Good knowledge of business arithmetic and English; working knowledge of library filing and shelving procedures; working knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to get along well with others; ability to write legibly; clerical aptitude; neatness of appearance; tact and courtesy in dealing with staff and public; physical conditions commensurate with the demands of the position.

Position begins ASAP Salary: $ 20.2216 (CSEA Grade 4/Step 2) per hour for 19 hours per week.
