Hiring Range: $43,348.00 - $50,170.00
Workday/Hours: 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. /Monday - Friday
This position is devoted to providing inventory and warehousing functions and professional procurement and contract administration services to the City. Provides semi-skilled, prescribed work in issuing and tracking inventory of supplies and parts.
Responsible for obtaining quotes; ordering supplies; receiving shipments; reporting shortage, damage or discrepancies; entering purchasing data; issuing materials and supplies including uniforms; delivering supplies as assigned; requesting quotes; ordering products; processing payments/requesting payment approval; providing customer service; and controlling inventory.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Performs warehouse operations by receiving, stocking, ordering, purchasing, and/issuing supplies, equipment, uniforms, and other materials;
- Operates equipment to load and unload materials; delivers supplies; monitors inventory levels; requests quotes or order materials from vendors; and processes payment transactions.
- Ensures proper working condition of inventory materials, supplies, and equipment; maintains cleanliness assigned work facilities including lockers, workstations, counters and shelves; may test equipment; and performs basic equipment maintenance and cleaning.
- Prepares, maintains, and/or processes records, logs, forms, purchase orders, invoices, and other documents; enters and updates data; reports supply or materials shortage or damage to higher-level staff; and reviews work for accuracy and completeness.
- Provides customer service including responding to inquiries from internal and external parties in person, via phone or online systems.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, Hi SET, TASC)
- One year of related experience in the automotive or heavy duty parts industry or related field .
- Valid, unrestricted, North Carolina driver's license "or" if you currently have another states driver's license, must be willing and able to obtain a valid NC driver's license within 60 days of hire.
- A forklift certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- ASE Parts Certification.
- Experience with Inventory Management Systems.
- Automotive parts or service experience.
