Hiring Range: $62,338.00 - $72,156.00
Work Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm

This position is responsible for research and analysis of complex law enforcement data; identification and interpretation of criminal activity, patterns, and trends; forecasting staffing and deployment needs; recommending improvements in program operations; processing information requests using manual and automated indexes, in-house files, and resource persons; and utilizing personal initiative, logic, and creativity to develop effective, user oriented, and analytical information services and products.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Researches, compiles, analyzes, and prepares data; identifies and analyzes crime patterns and trends; prepares statistical summaries and reports to guide workload and staff deployment; assists law enforcement by analyzing data to identify suspects and leads.
- Prepares, maintains, and/or reviews reports, flyers, maps, and other documents; updates and maintains databases; uses online and specialized law enforcement systems; and reviews work for accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Coordinates with community groups, the media, City departments, and/or external agencies; attends public meetings; may provide technical assistance to review boards; responds to incoming requests; and may conduct training.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Economics or related field including analytical studies.
- One year of related experience.
- Valid, unrestricted, North Carolina driver's license "or" if you currently have another states driver's license, must be willing and able to obtain a valid NC driver's license within 60 days of hire.
