Be the Key to Stability! we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housing Specialist to join our ACT team in Georgetown, DE and make a real difference in the lives of individuals with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI). In this fulfilling role, you'll play a critical role in supporting individuals on their journey to securing and maintaining safe, affordable housing, fostering independence, and promoting overall well-being.

Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4 pm, HQ in Georgetown, DE
What You'll Do:
Empower Housing Success: Guide clients through the housing search process, assisting them in identifying suitable options, completing applications, and navigating the leasing process.
Develop Essential Skills: Equip individuals with the skills needed to thrive in independent living, including budgeting, conflict resolution, household management, and maintaining a safe and healthy living environment.
Build Supportive Networks: Connect clients with essential community resources, including housing authorities, mental health services, and support groups, fostering a network that promotes stability and well-being.
Champion Recovery: Integrate evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed approach to support clients in achieving their housing goals and fostering long-term recovery.
Advocate & Collaborate: Develop strong partnerships with landlords, housing authorities, and community agencies to expand access to affordable housing options and advocate for the needs of your clients.
Be a Pillar of Support: Provide ongoing support to clients as they transition into new housing, addressing challenges and ensuring successful tenancy.
Champion Team Success: Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, sharing knowledge, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Maintain Accurate Records: Document client interactions and progress meticulously, ensuring clear and concise case notes that adhere to all regulatory standards.
You're the Ideal Candidate if You Possess:
A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitative Counseling, or a closely related field.
A minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with SPMI or other mental health conditions.
One year of experience in a housing support setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
A commitment to evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed approach.
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
