POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and snow removal on all Northern Air Cargo buildings and grounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Facilities Maintenance Technician duties include but are not limited to:

• General carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
• Assists with planning office moves, remodels and project cost estimation.
• Facilitates contact and works with vendors and contractors as required.
• Operates snow removal equipment, line painting and crack sealing machinery to include scale maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license with good driving record required, Class B CDL and Medical certificate preferred.
• Two years' experience in building maintenance or in the related trades.
• Trade or technical school may be substituted for a portion of hands on experience.
• Experience with heavy equipment, preferred
• Knowledge of maintenance related computer programs, preferred.

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS

• Ability to read, interpret and follow documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Most work is performed in a warehouse type setting or outdoors.
• May be exposed to adverse weather conditions (cold and heat), wet surfaces and icy conditions.
• May be exposed to high noise levels, dirt, dust, fumes, etc.
• Will be working around stationary and moving aircraft and aircraft ground equipment
• May be required to work in confined spaces for extended periods.
• Use of personal protective equipment may be required

PHYSICAL EFFORT

• May be required to push/pull up to 100 pounds for general maintenance tasks.
• During the winter time the employee may be required to work outside in sub-zero temperatures for extended lengths of time.
  
• Frequent use hands and fingers feel objects and/or handle tools.
• Frequently stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb and balance on ladders; stoop, kneel and crouch.
• The employee may be required to travel on company business with minimal notification.
