JOB
This is general manual custodial work in the care of public buildings. Work involves performing manual tasks related to the care and cleaning of the inside of court buildings, or other areas as assigned. An employee may be assigned to clean one or more floors, all offices and rooms, or other areas depending on the needs. Most tasks are manual, requiring the employee to lift, stoop, bend, carry, and move cleaning equipment while adhering to safety standards. Assignments and instructions are received orally from an immediate supervisor, who inspects work in progress or upon completion for adherence to instructions and work standards.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties which may be performed.)Sweeps, mops, scrubs floors, hallways, restrooms, and stairways; vacuums, dusts, cleans furniture, equipment, fixtures, window sills, railings, blinds and bookshelves.Collects and removes waste paper and trash from offices, rooms, halls and restrooms; washes walls, windows, doors, mirrors, light fixtures and drinking fountains; disinfects toilets, wash bowls, and urinals.Cleans kitchen and staff lounge; cleans refrigerator, microwave and oven.Replenishes towels, tissues, soap, and other restroom supplies.Sweeps outside courtyard as necessary.Other duties as assigned or required.
