Custodian/Janitor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Duties

Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in commercial and residential settings.
Maintain cleanliness of floors through effective floor care techniques including buffing and polishing.
Conduct custodial duties such as emptying trash bins, sanitizing restrooms, and replenishing supplies.
Assist with industrial cleaning tasks as needed to ensure all areas meet health and safety standards.
Carry out porter responsibilities which may include moving furniture or equipment as required.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
Follow established procedures for cleaning and maintaining facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or custodial work is preferred.
Familiarity with industrial cleaning methods and equipment is advantageous.
Knowledge of residential painting techniques is a plus.
Strong ability to clean and maintain various surfaces effectively.
Experience in floor care, including buffing and maintenance of different flooring types.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.27 - $13.91 per hour
Expected hours: 14 per week
