The College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) at South Dakota State University (SDSU) is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Coordinator for Recruitment and Academic Services. The College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at South Dakota State University focuses on teaching, research, and extension programs to serve South Dakota and beyond. With its main campus in Brookings and additional outreach facilities, including the West River Research and Extension in Rapid City, the college operates eight regional extension centers, three Tribal Extension Program offices, and eight research field stations statewide. The college comprises six academic departments, with faculty appointments often spanning multiple mission areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support recruitment, retention, and student success in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment plans focused on enrolling students in all college majors.
- Meet with and advise prospective students on academic offerings, activities, careers, and admissions.
- Represent the college at recruitment events across the state and country (travel may be required).
- Develop outreach programs for prospective high school and community college students.
- Assist with admissions procedures.
- Oversee and implement an active social media program for both prospective and current CAFES students.
- Collaborate with the SDSU Office of Admissions.
- Serve as an ambassador for the College and SDSU.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Food or Environmental Sciences or related field is completed by date of appointment;
- Minimum of 1 year experience in agriculture, academic or student affairs, or undergraduate advising.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication;
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills; and
- Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree;
- Experience in recruiting undergraduate students;
- Student services experience; and
- Experience with youth programs such as FFA, 4-H and others.
