Administrative Assistant The Administrative Assistant will support the United States Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) with administrative support services to aid in civilian applicant enlistment documents and manage incoming medical correspondence to facilitate quicker adjudication:
Prepare and track requested applicant medical documents while communicating with military, civilian, and medical staff daily
Maintain reports and files, both paper and electronic, to assist designated military staff in applicant processing
Maintain suspense files, conduct follow-ups before suspense dates, and request interim responses as necessary
The type of services provided are administration mission support in nature
Comply with the requirements of Army Regulation (AR) 25-50 (Preparing and Managing
Correspondence) in the preparation of all correspondence Required Skills and Qualifications
Must be capable of operating copiers, facsimile machines, word processors, microcomputers, printers, modems, and/or computer terminals using a standard keyboard with additional function keys to produce work accurately and efficiently
Capable of using Microsoft Office Suite to include Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Share Point
Ability to clearly communicate and edit English grammar, including spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and terminology commonly used in business office environments to prepare formal correspondence from handwritten drafts or oral instructions
Knowledge of or capable of learning standard processing procedures and formats, distribution, and retention policies for correspondence and reports produced in accordance with AR 25-50
Maintain professional office etiquette and a clean work area
Desired Skills and Qualifications
Previous experience as a file or administrative clerk for a medical office
Previous experience in an administrative military occupational specialty (MOS)
Previous experience in the Army’s recruiting mission
Knowledge of Army correspondence requirements AR 25-50
