A hospital in Abuja is looking to hire a Practice Manager. The Practice Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospital, ensuring that all departments function smoothly.
Implement and monitor policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and patient care.
Coordinate with department heads to ensure alignment with the hospital’s goals.
Manage facility maintenance, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
II) Administrative Management
Oversee and manage administrative functions, including patient registration, medical records management, billing, and scheduling.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and accreditation standards.
Manage the hospital's human resources, including recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions.
Maintain accurate records and reports on hospital performance, patient satisfaction, and staff productivity
iii) Business Viability and Financial Management:
Develop and implement business strategies to improve the hospital's profitability and sustainability.
Prepare and manage the hospital's budget, ensuring effective cost control and resource allocation.
Oversee billing processes, insurance claims, and collections to maximize revenue and reduce outstanding accounts.
Analyze financial reports and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
iv) Patient Care and Quality Assurance:
Work closely with the clinical team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Monitor patient satisfaction and address any issues or complaints promptly.
Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
v. Stakeholder Engagement:
Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Represent the hospital in community events, business meetings, and healthcare forums.
Engage with patients and their families to ensure a positive experience and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
vi. Strategic Planning and Growth:
Collaborate with the Medical Director and Board of Directors to develop and execute the hospital's strategic plan.
Identify, actively follow up and opportunities for expansion, partnerships, and new services to enhance the hospital's offerings.• Monitor industry trends and adapt strategies to maintain the hospital's competitive edge.
vii. Reporting and Liaison with Top Management:
Regularly reporting to the Medical Director and top management on the hospital’s operational, administrative, and financial performance. Provide detailed analysis, updates, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Organize and lead regular meetings with top management to discuss hospital performance, strategic initiatives, and operational challenges. Prepare agenda, present reports, and ensure follow-up on action points.
Act as the primary point of contact between hospital departments and top management. Ensure effective communication and alignment of hospital activities with the strategic goals set by the leadership team.
Provide data-driven insights and support to top management in decision-making processes, particularly in areas related to hospital operations, financial performance, and patient care.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business Management, or a related field. An MBA is an added advantage. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital administration or healthcare management. - Strong understanding of hospital operations, healthcare regulations, and financial management. - IT savvy with a strong understanding of social media marketing. - Demonstrated competence in the use and deployment of Hospital Management Software (HMS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems. Ability to optimize these systems for operational efficiency, patient management, billing, and reporting. -Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. - Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
