JOB PURPOSE: The Laboratory Quality Control Technician will be responsible for conducting tests and inspections on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications in the chemical industry. The technician will work closely with other members of the quality control team to maintain the integrity of the laboratory and support the overall goals of quality assurance. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: · Perform routine and non-routine testing of chemical products and raw materials following standard operating procedures (SOPs). · Prepare and maintain laboratory samples, reagents, and solutions. · Analyze test results and interpret data to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. · Maintain accurate and detailed records of test results, observations, and equipment maintenance. · Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal Performance. · Assist in the development and validation of new testing methods and procedures. · Ensure compliance with safety regulations and laboratory protocols to maintain a safe working environment. · Collaborate with other departments, including production and relevant departments, to address quality-related issues. Continuously monitor and improve laboratory processes and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: · Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in quality control within the chemical industry. · Bachelor’s degree/HND in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). · Strong knowledge of chemical properties, laboratory safety protocols, and quality control processes. · Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and testing methodologies (e.g., chromatography, spectroscopy, titration). · Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. · Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. · Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory data management systems. · Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
