Laboratory Scientist
A Hospital in Port Harcourt is looking to hire a Lab Scientist. The Lab Scientist will be responsible for conducting scientific experiments, analyzing results, and recording data for research, medical, or industrial purposes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
2)Proficiency in the use of lab equipment
3)High level of accuracy in conducting tests, recording results, and reporting findings.
4)Ability to interpret data and make scientifically sound decisions based on findings.
5)Strong written and verbal communication skills for producing clear and comprehensive reports and documentation.
6)Ability to troubleshoot laboratory issues and develop solutions to improve processes and results.
7)Efficient time management and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Job Type: Full-time
Ability to commute/relocate:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sample Collection and Analysis: Collect, prepare, and analyze biological, chemical samples using laboratory techniques.
- Equipment Operation:Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning properly.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze results using specialized software and methods to interpret findings, often using statistical tools to ensure accuracy.
- Report Generation: Report Generation: Prepare detailed reports based on test results and analyses, documenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Quality Control: Perform quality control checks to ensure compliance with relevant standards and protocols.
- Safety and Compliance:Adhere to strict laboratory safety protocols, including handling hazardous materials, ensuring the lab meets regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other scientists, researchers, or healthcare professionals to conduct experiments, interpret data, and develop findings.
- Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of chemicals, samples, and other laboratory supplies, ensuring the timely ordering of necessary materials.
- Research and Development: Stay updated with the latest scientific research, techniques, and developments in the field to apply new methodologies in the lab.
