POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Chief Pilot supports the Chief Pilot in overseeing the daily operations of the corporate flight department, ensuring safe and efficient flight operations while upholding the company's standards and regulatory compliance. This role includes assisting with flight crew management, training and development, scheduling, and safety protocols. In addition to operational duties, the Assistant Chief Pilot will regularly fly the King Air 350.
The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000, however actual salary may fall outside of this range depending on various factors, including but not limited to, experience and expertise.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Piloting aircraft and supporting the day-to-day flight operations in a manner that meets or exceeds service expectations of the customer while ensuring compliance with Canadian Air Regulations and other regulatory authorities.
- Providing a thorough understanding of customer requirements with the ability to provide creative solutions and options, where required, to meet the objectives of each mission.
- Performing the duties of Captain and/or First Officer on type approved aircraft, as assigned from time to time.
- Performing the duties of Training Captain; including, training and performing competency check rides to assess crew members as required by the Private Operations Manual.
- Conducting risk analyses and SMS reviews for flight operations with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Supporting accident / incident / hazard investigations as required.
- Assisting in the evaluations, engineering and development of aircraft modifications and improvements.
- Establishing and maintaining metrics for measurement of flight operation activities.
- Completing all required documentation in a timely manner, including flight logs, tracking sheets, SMS reports and required financial reports.
- Supporting and implementing Pacific Sky strategic business objectives.
- Contributing positively to the culture, growth and strategic direction of the company.
- Performing other duties directly for PSAI’s customers or as directed by the Chief Pilot or PSAI General Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Current and valid Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilot license
- Valid Transport Canada Cat 1 Medical
- Valid Group 1 Instrument Rating
- Current Canadian Passport
- Instructor, Training Captain or Check Pilot Experience with a min. of 3,000 hours of flight time, 2,000 hours as a pilot-in-command, 500 hours in a multi-engine aircraft and 500 hours of instrument time (with 100 as pilot-in command)
- King Air 350 Experience (BE30 Type Rating)
- Previous 604 Corporate Flight Department Experience Preferred
- Customer Service Experience
- Experience with the full set of Microsoft Office programs and Electronic Flight Bag Applications, (Foreflight, FOS, APG)

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Due to the service-oriented nature of our business, the successful candidate must be flexible with the willingness to work weekends, evenings and holidays on an as requested basis. In addition, while it is anticipated that the position will be located in Victoria, BC, additional travel to various operating bases may be required from time to time.
