Department of Manitoba Transportation & Infrastructure is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Administrative Assistant, located in Brandon, Manitoba.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Training in, and/or experience performing various administrative, clerical and reception type duties such as, but not limited to: word processing, process incoming and outgoing mail, receive and distribute information, filing, manage calendars, coordinate meetings, answer phones
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Strong written communication skills with experience drafting, proofreading, editing and/or formatting correspondence with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and effectively manage tight deadlines
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive material in a confidential and professional manner
  • Proven customer support experience or experience as a Client Service Representative, including understanding of customer's needs and the ability to present information clearly and concisely
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization and external contacts
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems
Desired:
  • Degree, diploma or certificate in administrative or clerical support

Duties:
The Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support within the organizational unit that is necessary to allow the organization to perform its daily operations and meet client /stakeholder needs.
Duties may include monitoring management email, preparing meeting agendas, assisting with reports and documentation, drafting and editing documents, maintain filing systems, managing office supplies, scheduling appointments and travel, providing customer service, and handling Construction Orders, RFQs (Request for Quote) and RFPs (Request for Proposals), including bid quotations.
