This position is accountable for providing guidance and advice to ensure employees throughout Outback Stores understand and implement their duty of care under the Work Health Safety legislation and the Food Safety Act. This position is accountable for providing guidance and advice to ensure employees throughout Outback Stores understand and implement their duty of care under the Work Health Safety legislation and the Food Safety Act.
Skills and Experiences: Key Accountabilities:
In conjunction with senior managers, assist in developing a strong WHS and Food Safety culture throughout Outback Stores;
Provide detailed advice to managers and employees on WHS and Food Safety matters in relation to their duty of care under the WHS legislation;
Review and assist managers to implement WHS and Food Safety policies and procedures in order to comply with the duty of care for managers and employees throughout Outback Stores;
Coordinate and assist Area Managers with the completion of safety inspection checklists to ensure staff and customer safety;
Provide assistance and advice to managers to identify hazards, assess the risks, implement controls and appropriate reviews;
Provide assistance and advice to managers to investigate incidents/accidents and take appropriate action to control hazards;
Provide assistance and guidance to managers to develop safe work procedures;
Provide assistance and advice to managers relating to maintaining WHS registers, including food safety, hazardous substances, noise, plant and equipment and risk management;
Prepare regular reports on WHS matters;
Provide WHS Induction to all Outback Stores new starters;
Monitor changes in legislative requirements and industry standards which impact Outback Stores and update policies and procedures accordingly.
Manage the WHS training registers for OBS and non-OBS staff
Review and maintain the WHS training and Food Safety training section of the HR online platform
Prepare data, participate and record the minutes for the Workplace Safety and Food Safety meetings.
Assist in ensuring regulatory compliance for Woking with Vulnerable People across stores and Outback Stores
Any other tasks as requested by the General Manager – People and Culture.
Desired Qualifications
Certificate IV Work Health and Safety or higher
Hold (or able to obtain) Working with Children’s Check and National Police Certificate.
Current unrestricted driver’s licence
