The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.
The Dooralong Transformation Centre is Australia's largest drug, alcohol and gambling rehabilitation centre providing residential support services in an abstinence based, drug-free environment.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Case Worker to provide effective service delivery, case management, screening/assessment, risk management and referral, education and support in accordance with TSA/State guidelines within a comprehensive participant-led, recovery-based framework.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Dooralong, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 4.
You will successfully
  • Provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, psycho-social interventions, group work, screening/assessment, referral, and case work within a recovery-orientated and person-led framework.
  • Ensure services are meeting key performance indicators.
  • Develop and monitor individual treatment plans, risk management plans, and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures.
  • Develop plans and strategies to ensure that barriers to access service are addressed.
  • Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for participants.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with other services.
You will have
  • Minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management).
  • a current NSW Employee Working with Children Check.
  • A current NSW Driver licence (preferred).
  • A current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one.
  • Completed 4 AOD Minimum Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).
  • Knowledge of AOD, community services and health sectors (preferably in a residential treatment setting).
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work with those impacted by substance abuse, gambling, and mental health conditions.
  • Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
  • Experience working in collaboration with other organisations.
