New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions administers the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The WIOA assists job seekers with accessing employment, education, training, and support services they need to meet employers requirements and succeed in our labor market.
Why does the job exist?
The position serves as staff to the State Workforce Development Board (SWDB) and its committees; interfaces with the SWDB Chair and other SWDB board and committee members; advises and informs the SWDB about national, state, and local developments affecting WIOA, the SWDB, and local workforce development; interfaces between the SWDB and Department staff and leadership.
How does it get done?
With the SWDB Chair and board members, develop systems that enable the SWDB to track and evaluate progress on the goals and strategies of the State Workforce Development Plan, including metrics and activities for each SWDB committee that relate to the State Workforce Development Plan.
Analyze and explain data related to the State Workforce Development Plan.
Prepare and coordinate a robust and creative agenda for SWDB and committee meetings, including preparation and coordination of materials and guests.
Meet and work with local workforce development boards and staff to ensure coordination of activities outlined in the State Work
Interpret and apply program policy, state and federal laws and regulations, USDOL TEGLs and TENS and legislative intent to ensure SWDB compliance with state plan, annual plan and local regional plan development.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Substitutions apply. See Substitution Table below.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is usually performed in an office setting, with extensive exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), personal computer, tablet, printer, calculator, cellphone, copy machine, scanner, keyboard, and telephone usage. Occasional travel, working extra hours, working on weekends and holidays.
