Summary:

Under the supervision of the Social Services Director, The Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Coordinator (Coordinator) is tasked implementation of the Chugachmiut Vocational Rehabilitation program. When the program is operational, the Coordinator will provide direct services by assisting clients to adapt to employment challenges and supervision of program staff.

Major Responsibilities:

The Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Coordinator has a significant role in building, implementing, and developing the Chugachmiut Vocational Rehabilitation Program.
Program development responsibilities include writing program policies and procedures, developing a referral system, and identifying and planning various services and programs.
Provides supervision of the Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
Provides supervision of the Tribal Vocational Job Coach.
Ensures culturally responsive service is available to people with disabilities.
Participate as a member of Chugachmiut's Community and Family Services Division team and other divisions as directed.
Develop regional relationships with partners to provide supported employment opportunities.
Meet with and conduct presentations to the local leadership and communities to promote the Chugachmiut Vocational Rehabilitation Program.
Complete all required grant reporting, mandatory meetings, and site visits.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in rehabilitative counseling, social services, or closely related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Knowledge of and ability to work productively in rural communities.
Experience working in the field of disabilities and substance abuse, preferably in the field of Vocational Rehabilitation.
At least one year of successful experience as a supervisor for Vocational Rehabilitation Services or related fields.
Reliable, dependable, ability to demonstrate follow through and consistency.
Ability to work in a rural setting and travel by light aircraft when required.
Must maintain confidentiality.

Hours of Work:

Hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour for lunch. This is a full-time 37.5 hours per week and 1950 hours per year position. Chugachmiut maintains a drug/alcohol free and non-smoking environment.
