ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Phoenix Convention Center and Venues hosts a diverse range of conventions, trade shows, meetings, and entertainment events in one of the premier convention facilities in the United States. The City of Phoenix Convention Center and Venues is seeking two Supplies Clerk I*U2 to help fill two positions in their Event Services Department. The Supplies Clerk I*U2 is responsible for manual and clerical work in the receipt, stocking, minor maintenance and repair, issuance of various supplies, materials, records, and equipment of a general or specialized nature. Some positions receive direction from a Supplies Clerk II, and some positions may be in charge of a small supply room serving the needs of a specialized area.
Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Checking incoming material for quality and quantity against invoices, purchase orders, packing slips, contract order release forms, or other documents.
  • Stocking shelves and keeping stock in order.
  • Making simple arithmetical computations to reconcile physical count with inventory records and order requests.
  • Performing physical inventories periodically.
  • Receiving, unpacking, and storing general or specialized goods and supplies.
  • Keeping and updating records of goods received and issues.
  • Issuing general and specialized goods and supplies.
  • Maintaining storerooms, warehouses, and yards in clean, neat, and orderly condition.
  • Assigning inventory/stock numbers and location to new stock.
  • Placing orders for supplies directly with vendor.
  • Maintaining regular and reliable attendance.
SALARY

Pay Range: $16.88 - $24.93 per hour.
Hiring Range: $16.88 - $21.54 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three years of experience in a warehouse or stores operation where a wide variety of materials, fittings, tools, supplies, and equipment are dispensed.
  • Other combinations of education and experience which meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
  • May be required to:
    • Move objects weights between 25 to 50 pounds may be required.
    • Work irregular hours, second and / or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required.

  • This position requires the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
  • One or more years of experience in:
    • Ordering supplies.
    • Processing items for shipping and receiving.
    • Maintaining inventory through a database management system.
    • Managing and organizing invoices.
    • Processing items for payment.
