ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Parks and Recreation Department provides residents and visitors more than 41,000 acres of desert parks and mountain preserves. The parks feature 41 trailheads and more than 200 miles of trails, and 185 city parks. Additionally, there are 32 community and recreation centers, classes, and sports programs for all ages, 29 pools, eight golf courses, and a variety of specialty and cultural venues and facilities.
The Supplies Clerk III position performs responsible supervisory and stock inventory control work in the operation of a central supply room or warehouse which services most of the departments and agencies of the City with common use items,or a very large supply room, warehouse, or yard which services one large department with technical or specialized items. Other responsibilities include ensuring staff are engaged in the requisition, receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of supplies and materials as well as inputting and retrieving information via computer and maintaining the security of supplies and equipment.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in meeting customer demands while maintaining strict control over warehouse assets.
  • Ability to work well in teams and individually.
  • Ability to operate a forklift to move supplies and lift heavy and bulky items.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems.
  • Enjoys working in a warehouse environment in addition to performing data entry, and routine administrative functions.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
SALARY

Pay Range: $23.74 - $35.08 hourly.
Hiring Range: $23.74- $30.31 hourly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Four years of experience in a warehouse or stores operation where a wide variety of materials, fittings, tools, supplies, and equipment are dispensed.
  • One year of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Other combinations of education and experience which meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
  • Experience using computerized inventory control systems.
  • Experience in inventory management.
  • Experience procuring goods and supplies.
  • Experience in annual inventory.
  • Experience providing strong customer service.
  • Computer skills including SRM/SAP experience.
