Safety Manager

PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS NOT IN ANCHORAGE. WE RELOCATE YOU TO DILLINGHAM, AK (45 minutes by flight from ANC) and PROVIDE DISCOUNTED, TEMP HOUSING FOR 90 DAYS, NO STATE INCOME TAXES, and FREE MEDICAL/VISION/HEALTH PREMIUMS!

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team. The Safety Manager will oversee all aspects of safety within the organization, ensuring compliance with regulations and creating a safe work environment for all employees. We are located in frontier Alaska and the salmon capital of the world!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
- Investigate accidents and incidents, performing root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
- Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure adherence to workers' compensation laws
- Provide CPR and first aid training to employees
- Oversee environmental health and safety (EHS) programs
- Fabricate safety training materials and conduct training sessions
- Write detailed reports on safety performance and incidents

Skills:
- Proficient in root cause analysis techniques
- Knowledge of EPA regulations and standards
- Familiarity with workers' compensation laws
- CPR certification
- Experience in workers' compensation management
- Strong understanding of EHS principles
- Ability to fabricate safety equipment or materials as needed
- Excellent report writing skills
- Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs
- Knowledge of occupational health practices

Qualifications:
1. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Science/Environmental Health & Safety or related field. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred. Alternatively, a high school diploma with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in an appropriate clinical, technical, or scientific field would be considered.
2. Must have thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC), Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) codes/standards and ability to apply that knowledge in a hospital/clinical setting.
3. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the following:
i. conducting special studies and investigations, organize the results, and present them orally and in writing;
ii. collaboration with administrative staff, physicians, nurses, support staff, patients, community members, and Tribal and Federal agencies;
iii. working independently with minimal supervision, making effective decisions, and providing leadership and organizational skills; and
iv. preparing instructional materials utilizing various computer programs including word processing and spreadsheets.
4. Must be self-motivated and able to function effectively within a team environment.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
