Tik Tok Trust & Safety
Our Trust & Safety team's commitment is to keep our online community safe. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community. As a product manager in our Trust & Safety team, you will work with teams of engineers, data scientists, operations, product policies and various relevant internal teams to build safety product features and strategies. You will be working on safety features, technical strategies to improve our trust and safety processes, as well as methods to detect and address the risky behaviors and actors in the community.
It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance. It can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals.
About the Team
Youth Safety is a core pillar of the T&S team, bringing together the expertise of Product Managers and Program Managers into one group. Our mission is to protect young people on Tik Tok - and throughout the wider ecosystem - by building protections and education that help keep young people safe on our platform and participating in industry-wide strategies and development. This role will be responsible to support the development of best-in-class technical solutions for Age Assurance including developing machine learning models, implementing external solutions, working in partnership with our Policy, Government Relations, and Legal, and onboarding new features and product areas across the company into our Age Assurance solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end programs designed to enhance Age Assurance Solutions. This includes supporting the development of ML models, collaborating with external partners, and ensuring that safeguards are integrated into new product features;
- Develop and drive the long term strategy for Age Assurance product solutions;
- Have a solutions-oriented mindset to effectively identify and address problems;
- Develop system implementation plans, scale safeguards across different products and enhance existing processes;
- Support the implementation of regulatory requirements to ensure compliance;
- Partner and align with multiple cross-functional teams (from Policy, Legal, T&S Product, Core Product, Ops) to drive program development. Facilitate consensus on solutions, develop strategies to address critical issues, and ensure effective execution;
- Collaborate with external partners to assess potential new technology integrations and develop integration plans for our products;
- Articulate complex Trust & Safety strategies in a clear and cohesive manner and align technical and non-technical stakeholders to build specific requirements to reduce risk., across many disciplines and diverse regions/work cultures, behind them.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in program and/or project management, particularly in areas related to Trust and Safety or similar fields such as Risk, Fraud, Consulting;
- Experience in developing and implementing scalable systems and processes;
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and external partners;
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented approach;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of current legislation related to Youth Safety or experience with regulatory compliance;
- Understanding of machine learning models and their application in safety measures;
- Ability to navigate complex, multifaceted problems and drive towards effective solutions;
- Worked with global teams across multiple time zones, ability to shift priorities and adapt to change.

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $165120 - $311600 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
