Division: Capstone Specialty Clinics, a department of Medical Network of Alaska Medical Network of Alaska delivers leadership, support, and guidance to healthcare facilities of all sizes across multiple specialists to provide accessibility, value, and quality medical administrative support services.
What You’ll Do: The Referral Coordinator provides administrative support services to the specialty clinic providers in order to ensure a smooth flow of patients through the specialty clinics.
Responsible for tracking and coordinating all patient referrals,
Ensures complete and accurate patient registration, including demographics and current insurance information,
Handles requests from third-party referral sources and provides relevant information and data,
Ensures that referrals are addressed in a timely manner,
Contacts insurance companies to ensure verification of benefits and prior authorization approval requirements are met,
Schedules all new patients after all required information has been received,
Adheres to HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements,
Communicates patient updates between specialty clinics and referring sources,
Maintains professional growth by attending all meetings and in-service training,
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
What You Need For This Job:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
Must reside in or near Wasilla, Alaska.
Have general knowledge of EMR software and Outlook Programs
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, or feel and talk and hear. Ability to occasionally sit, reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch, or crawl.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
