Six half-time Ameri Corps members will provide operational assistance to the Securities Enforcement Division in the investigation and investor education areas and take the lead in developing new investigative tools and resources and upgrading and developing new preventative education tools and materials to further crime prevention efforts. Ameri Corps members will be involved in various investigation activities, including (1) conducting undercover reviews and exploring social media platforms for securities offerings that violate state law. (2) Conduct initial reviews, research, and processing of statutorily mandated vulnerable adult (VA) reports of possible securities or financial exploitation. (3) Collect data related to VA complaints to leverage data-driven analytics toward investor protection. (4) Conduct background investigations as needed. (5) Receive and process documents and records related to securities complaint investigations.
Member Duties : Members will assist with Investment Fraud Investigations and provide education to Vulnerable adults. They will conduct data collection to identify past victims for educational purposes and provide public speaking opportunities.
