Responsible for handling the duties of the post office, including receiving and sorting mail, selling postage, weighing packages, stamping envelopes, assisting customers, selling money orders, and ensure mail has correct zip codes and addresses.
- Maintain Federal Regulations of the Postal Service and follow all postal guidelines.
- Ensure mail gets collected from downtown post office in the mornings by 9:00 am then delivered back downtown at 4:30 pm in the evenings.
- Sort mail on a timely basis and have it delivered to the proper boxes.
- Meter mail that is to be sent out by departments and keep accurate records for the required time limit.
- Sell postage and keep accurate inventory of postage stamps and make deposits as needed.
- Assist customers with their needs: postage purchases, post office boxes (opening /closing), picking up packages etc.
- Complete forms regarding changes of address or for special services such certified/priority mail.
- Forward mail on a daily basis.
- Meter mail for departments.
- Make sure forms are completed when Post Office boxes are opened/closed and the appropriate deposits are paid and attach receipts.
- Maintain the accuracy of Post Office boxes.
- Make sure to have accurate cash drawer for both the post office and copy center.
- Will be cross trained to assist the Copy Center Specialist with printing needs for customers. Use of Adobe products and Publisher will be necessary and any printing/graphic design knowledge is a bonus.
